Shipping Two or More Vehicles at Once
A household move with two cars, a couple shipping a daily driver and a weekend car, a small business relocating three vans, or a collector moving part of a collection: shipping more than one vehicle is common, and our quote calculator lets you add several vehicles to a single request. This page explains how multi-vehicle shipments are scheduled, when vehicles ride together, and how pricing works per unit.

How multi-vehicle quotes work
In the car shipping calculator you can add vehicles to one request. Each is priced on its own, because a pickup truck and a compact car take different space and weight on the trailer, and you can choose open or enclosed for each. The result is one booking with a line per vehicle, one contact person at each end and one set of pickup dates, which is much easier to manage than two unrelated orders.
Will the vehicles travel together?
Dispatch tries to place vehicles leaving the same address on the same carrier, and on busy lanes it often works. Three things decide it:
- Positions available. The carrier needs the right number of free spots with the right height and weight limits on the day.
- Matching requirements. One enclosed and one open vehicle, or one running and one non-running, usually means two trucks.
- Matching dates. If the vehicles are available on different days they will almost always travel separately.
When the vehicles do split, each has its own driver, Bill of Lading and delivery window. We keep you updated on both.
Common multi-vehicle situations
Relocating households
The usual pattern is to ship one car a week or two early and drive or ship the second on moving day. If both go by carrier, think about which car you need first at the destination and give that one the earliest first-available date. Our cross-country guide covers the drive-versus-ship decision for long moves.
Snowbirds with two cars
Couples often ship both vehicles south in the fall. Book together with a flexible window and they frequently ride on the same truck. See snowbird car shipping.
Small business fleets
Work vans, service trucks and company cars moving between branches are grouped where routes allow and dispatched separately where they do not. Tell us about ladder racks, shelving or equipment left inside; they change the vehicle’s height and weight, and loose equipment is not covered as personal items. Oversized units are covered on our oversized vehicle shipping page.
Collectors and enthusiasts
Moving several collector cars usually calls for an enclosed carrier, which can take a small group together. See classic and exotic car shipping.
Pickup and delivery logistics with several cars
- Make sure the pickup location has room for a long truck to load two or more vehicles safely. A quiet wide street or a large lot works better than a cul-de-sac.
- Have all vehicles washed, photographed and ready at the start of the window with keys labeled.
- Each vehicle gets its own condition report on the Bill of Lading. Walk each one with the driver separately.
- At delivery, inspect each car before signing for it. Do not sign for both after looking at one.
- Personal items limits apply per vehicle, and personal items are never insured.
The complete pickup checklist is in how to prepare your car for shipping.
Paying for multiple vehicles
You can choose the cash or non-cash price for each vehicle in the calculator. Payment terms are set out in the booking confirmation; typically the booking is paid before pickup and any balance due to the carrier is paid in certified funds at delivery. Major cards, Zelle and ACH are accepted.

Frequently asked questions
Will both cars ride on the same truck?
Often, when they leave from the same place on the same day and the carrier has two free positions. It is not guaranteed. If one vehicle is oversized, non-running or needs enclosed transport, they may be dispatched separately.
Is there a discount for shipping two vehicles?
Each vehicle is priced individually in the calculator, and you can add vehicles to a single quote. When two units share a pickup and delivery the carrier saves a stop, which is reflected in lane pricing. We do not advertise a fixed multi-car percentage because the saving depends on the route and the vehicles.
Can I ship one car now and one later?
Yes. Many relocating families keep one car until the last day. Book them as separate shipments with different pickup dates; they will usually go on different trucks.
Can the vehicles go to different addresses?
Yes, each vehicle has its own pickup and delivery address. If the destinations are far apart the shipments are dispatched separately.
How does a small business ship a fleet?
Send us the list of units with locations and dates. We quote each unit, group what can be grouped, and give you one contact for the whole move. See the dealer and auction page for recurring arrangements.
