Motorcycle Shipping - How It Works
Shipping a motorcycle is not complicated as it sounds, but there are a couple of steps along the process. Here is how the shipping process usually goes. From the opening call to getting the bike delivered.
Step 1: Requesting a Quote
Everything begins when you reach out for a quote. Whether you are shipping, buying or selling, we will figure out the safest and most affordable way to move your motorcycle.
We will just need some basic information: the year, make and model, bike condition and of course where it is coming from and it needs to be delivered. Since we have got the details, you will get a clear price that covers transportation, insurance and any extras. No hidden charges after the price is confirmed.
Step 2: Booking the Transport
If you are happy with the rate, the next step is the booking. At this point we will put a simple agreement that confirms the price, the transport type, whether it is open trailer or enclosed, and how the insurance works. From there we match you with one of the licensed carriers in our network that specializes in shipping motorcycles, our folks that know exactly how to handle bikes safely.
Step 3: Assigning a carrier
Once you are on the schedule, we will lock in a carrier based on route, timing and the type of the trailer which best fits for your bike. The driver will be assigned based on the information you provided to us. You will have the carrier’s direct information and they will also reach out directly to confirm pickup details with you
Step 4: Pickup Day
When it is time for the pickup, the driver comes to the agreed location, whether it is a house, dealership or wherever it is the best. Before the bike is loaded, a quick inspection is done, photos are taken and a Bill of Leading (BOL) is completed. After the process, the motorcycle is tied down with soft strap, wheel chocks, and a proper gear so it stays safe for the trip.
Step 5: While On the Road
Your bike is in good hands, but we also keep track of the shipment along the way. If there are weather delays or you just wanted an update, you can reach out to our support agents for the latest ETA. Our agents are available anytime to answer your question if anything comes to your mind about the process
Step 6: Delivery
When the bike arrives, the carrier will set up a time with you for delivery. Together you will do a final walk-around making sure the condition matches the pickup inspection. Once everything is set, you sign on the BOL and the motorcycle is officially back in your hands. If you can not be there in person, you can have someone you trust to receive it for you.
